Merck & Co., Inc., Senior Vice President, Business Development & Corporate Licensing

Mr. Kender is responsible for Corporate Development, Corporate Licensing, Human Health Business Development, U.S.H.H. Business Development and Financial Evaluation and Analysis. He is a member of the Finance Senior Leadership Team and a member of the Merck Capital Ventures Investment Committee. Mr. Kender joined Merck in 1978 and has held a variety of positions in the financial area including positions in the Corporate Controller’s area, Divisional Financial Services, and Financial Evaluation and Analysis. In 1994 he joined Corporate Development and in 1996 he was promoted to Vice President, Corporate Development. In 2000, Mr. Kender’s responsibilities were expanded to include Corporate Licensing and Worldwide Business Development. Mr. Kender earned a B.S. in Accounting from Villanova and a M.B.A. from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
