A Word from Debbie Hart, President
of BioNJ
 The old saying which counsels that “opportunity only
knocks once” will certainly be disproven for New Jersey’s
biotechnology
industry in the next several weeks.
First
up is the $1 billion available to R&D based companies through
the
Therapeutic Discovery Project Credit provision that was included
in the
recent health care reform legislation.
On Friday, May 21, the U.S. Department of the Treasury
issued
guidance that outlines how companies can apply for funds that can
be used
to defray research and development costs.
On
June 14 and 15, the biotechnology community will be gathering for
an
unprecedented opportunity to network and partner at the BioNJ 2010
BioPartnering Conference in Princeton.
Finally,
there is an opportunity for the biotechnology community to speak
out and
address proposed cuts to the New Jersey Technology
Business Tax Certificate Transfer Program and the New
Jersey Commission on Science and Technology.
